A mandala for

My Hometown -【Shiga】

At the heart of this mandala lies Lake Biwa, one of the most ancient lakes in the world. Just as the lake takes up one-sixth of Shiga, the central circle of this mandala holds its quiet, timeless presence.

In the next ring, four figures stand guard: the goddess who shaped the lake, two mighty water deities, and the water dragon. Together they form Shiga’s circle of protection, watching over its waters.

Finally, the mandala breathes with the quietness of Shiga itself — the hush of mountains, the stillness of water. A place where silence is not emptiness, but a calm flow that carries you gently back to yourself.

My hometown is known to be one of the least eye catching prefecture in Japan. That is what I love about it though. And it’s beautiful in it’s quiet serene way.
